Today was a perfect day! The weather was absolutely beautiful, sunny and warm, with the perfect amount of breeze. I spent the day potting pots for the front porch, balcony, and patio. This year I potted 23 pots! First, I miscalculated the flowers, then had to drive to the greenhouse.

Next, I ran out of potting soil! Oh, no! Seriously? I was loving my project but not when it turned into what I call an ” all day affair”! It was worth it, though, to see my finished, beautiful pots sitting around making everything look prettier. It was a great day, but now I must say, I am tired! I am now resting in my new Outer Banks Hammocks rope hammock, it is a beautiful terra cotta rope. Now resting up for tomorrow, power washing!

I love sitting in my hammock chair! Sitting out and swinging gives me the inspiration I sometimes need.

At first, taking art was challenging. I just didn’t seem to have the creativity everyone else had. But I started hanging out in my swinging hammock chair and ideas just seem to come left and right!

What a fun way to relax! Believe me, you will have a very unique and modern hammock chair with this Outback Chair Company Urban Balance Cove. Some people call it an “egg chair”. It reminds me of a bird’s nest, probably because I love birds.

But the feel of relaxation, while snuggled up in this cove, is amazing! I could just retreat to my “nest” for several hours at a time, taking a book along, or my iPod, to listen to some of my favorite music!

Today is the day to honor our Mothers and the Mothers of our children. A special day set aside to honor them and make them feel special! To get them a special gift or take them for a nice meal. One thing is for sure, no Mother should ever have to cook on Mother’s Day!

But, why only one day they get a year? These selfless women, mothers and wives, should have Happy Mother’s Week! I intend to help my wife and the mother of our children have a relaxing and wonderful day! I am cooking at the lake house because she despises crowds. Then I am going to take her for a ride in the boat or walk around the lake with her. But she is definitely going to have some time to herself in her folding hammock that she likes toting around with her!

I’m here in Ocean City for my birthday and it is so beautiful here! It’s a little stormy, but that just makes the ocean look more great!

The way the storm clouds, waves, and sand mixes together reminds me of my Mom’s Pawleys Island quilted hammock. The colors are absolutely amazing! It’s like my own little peaceful serenity.

PJs On The Patio

I have to confess that one of my favorite “nice weather things to do” is going out on the patio in my PJs in the morning. After all, it’s in the back of my house and no one can see me. I like to take my coffee, and sometimes breakfast too, out there. I love the mornings because the birds are so noisy and the temperature is usually so pleasant, even in the hot summer.

I have so many chairs, tables, and even a knotted hammock chair on the patio, not to mention several hammock swings under the trees. I pick a favorite spot to sit down for this morning, because tomorrow it may be different, I rotate! I sit and sip and give gratitude for this day. I pray that it will be a wonderful day and I give thanks in advance. How could it be any different?

Backyard Hammock

For the last few years, I’ve always had a hammock inside my home. This is because I live in a rainy corner of the country.

However, this year, the weather is particularly nice very early, so I have decided to put a hammock in my back yard. My goal is to find the best price on a discount outdoor hammock online. Then I will have one in and one out, no matter what the weather!

Sometime corporate decisions can be frustrating. They are so darn close-minded, at times. Where are their minds? They need to have some hammock time so they can think straight!

So, today I started my work helping my girlfriend’s Dad to dig the foundation to build a patio. It was in the 90 degrees, but it felt like it must’ve been 120 degree, since the house was blocking the breeze.

Well I worked several hours. Then I took a nice long nap in his new cotton hammock, on the breezy side of the house!

Digging In The Dirt

Today I am going to do one of my favorite things in life: dig in the dirt! I am finally ready to do some planting! My only question is…are the frost warnings over? In my area we should wait until after Mother’s Day, in case of frost. But it seems like I have been waiting so long already! With a mild winter, a very warm March, then a chilly April with many frosty mornings, I can’t wait any longer!

I am anxious to plant some annual herbs in my garden, like basil. The chives are blooming and all the perennial herbs are back and growing nicely. I will take a break in my beautiful Brazilian hammock and browse through one of my herbal cookbooks. It is going to be a perfect day!
