Track Meet
Well, today was my girlfriend’s last track meet, so I told her I would come and watch. I put one of my Mom’s travel hammocks in the car, and off I went.
When I got there, I had to find a spot to hang a small hammock, yet still see the meet. Beside the stadium, I discovered would work, so I tied up my portable hammock there. It was a good meet. She won! But the best part, for me, was watching from within my special spot!
I just love the unique and modern pieces from the Outback Chair Company. The items from the Urban Balance collection look great indoors, as well as outdoors.
The Urban Balance Cove is a great big hammock chair made with an epoxy-coated aluminum wrapped frame covered in all- weather-resistant resin wicker and it comes with Sunbrella fabric on the pillows, which prevents fading. I think this would look great hanging in a stand near the pool!
Last summer when I had my broken leg, it was awful! I felt like I was trapped inside but it was such a bother to try to sit outside. The grass got irritating and the chairs would start to be uncomfortable. Try to sit outside seemed like more trouble than it was worth.
Then, my friend Michele got me a portable hammock. It was so nice! That summer, my friends helped me to take it to the pool, the beach, everywhere. I was able to enjoy summer while it was here and still enjoy my hammock when summer was over.
My son and I were chillin’ out back in our hammock swings, talking. He asked if anybody makes a hammock couch?
I said.”you mean like a hanging couch”? He said “yes”. I said, maybe when we get a new couch, we will try to hang the new one! Haha!
What a beautiful crisp and clear morning I woke up to! I am so grateful! The birds were singing and the sun was shining. Days like is make me feel so happy. I enjoy the sounds of the different birds, but I don’t know what kinds of birds I am hearing unless I see them and they are in the dense maple leaves, so sometimes I hear them but don’t see them.
Maybe, when I am older and retired and have much more time, I will learn the birds by their songs. I will just lay around in my Mayan hammock under the tress and listen and observe. I will study one of the CDs that have the sounds of birds. Well, that isn’t going to be for some time…so for now, I will just enjoy the music!
Hey, wow, you won’t believe this! My wife is usually doggone good at planning vacations and short trips, weekends, etc. Well, this past weekend, we drove to Ocean City, MD for the 18th annual International Kite Festival. So we got there, checked into our room, and my wife walks out on the balcony to take a look. She said “it doesn’t look the kite festival”. I went to look and said, “well, there are kites out”, and she said “they are from the Kite Loft, they always have some out”.
So, later, at the Kite Loft, I hear her asking about the kite festival and they tell her “it’s next weekend”! She says are they joking? No, we would never joke about that! She told them she saw this date on the website. So, she was inside causing a panic while I am hanging out in a Hammaka hammock chair on the front porch! Poor wife, a bit disappointed, but we are still away for the weekend at the beach and we will have fun, I tell her, and it was a very nice family time!
The turkey on the barbecue grill, last week, was a huge hit with my son’s girlfriend. She proclaimed, “This was the best turkey I ever ate”!
We all hung out in our own butterfly chair after dinner, sitting around talking about how good it was. We made plans to have more meals with a turkey on the grill. Looks like I started something I might regret! More work for me!
Today my beautiful girlfriend and I spent the whole evening, after track, picking up garbage along the road. We went all over the area, having some laughs along the way. I never understand why people litter, though.
But what I was really looking forward to was to just snuggle up next to her in my swinging hammock chair and spend time talking and cuddling. So, that’s what we did when we were finished. Having a comfy hammock chair made our time 50 times better!
My husband is so hard to surprise. You’d think by now I’d be able guess what he would and wouldn’t like, but I can’t. He’s just so picky and never seems to have a straight opinion. I wanted to do something special without having to ask him about it.
I decided to narrow it down to his favorite things: outdoors, sleeping, and relaxing with me, I asked around some ideas of what would work for all three and my friend suggested a hammock! I found that such a great idea, then I found the most unique one ever! The Outback Chair Company has an Urban Balance Wave hammock. This will hold up well in the weather and he can use it at the lake this summer. He was so surprised and now we are spending a lot of time in it!
No relaxing in one of my camping hammocks today, which is what I planned on doing. My wife has a bright idea! But it has me cooking all day! I am going to make a turkey in our Weber charcoal grill, for my son’s girlfriend, and of course, for the whole family too. I haven’t made one for so many years. They are really good on the grill, and so moist!
I just became her new “burger guy”, my wife says. She said she lost her grilling job, because my burgers were so good! We will see how this turkey turns out today…
