Missing Bandit
I am still missing my little buddy, Bandit, who went to Heaven last month, to wait for us. I still forget and expect him to come and greet me when I walk in…then the reality quickly sets in.
I came across this picture today and wanted to share a memory of him, knowing my fellow dog lovers would understand. He enjoyed laying in this hammock chair, with his blanket, just swinging from its hammock chair stand in the corner.
I am wondering if Mother Nature is bipolar, as it is a common illness many good people suffer with. She is extremely hot one day and freezing the next! Or maybe that is just a woman in general..? I can say that since I am one!
It is so windy and cold today that I can’t even dream of laying in my hammock. It is even in a wooden hammock stand, which is sturdy, but I still feel I would be blown away!
There is a beautiful little princess sitting in our hammock, in a great big wooden hammock stand…just waiting for her prince to come and take her to the ball…er, the prom! He is probably still fussing over his tie..but he will come soon, and take the princess away.
My, but they do grow up fast! I need some time in that seat once they leave! I am not sure who it is more stressful for?
We are doing the dreaded job of putting a fresh coat of stain on the patio this spring. We always want to, then the leaves pop
out so quickly it is a futile attempt, as the breeze blows around all the the new leaf buds on the patio before it dries!
This year we got one nice coat on, but wanted to do another, when the leaves popped. Now, the wooden hammock stand is sitting bare in the yard, waiting for us to finish our project so that it can have its special place on the patio!
So, yesterday I mentioned how I am trading doing things with my teenager son. He is going to be running, walking, and biking with me, or say he says, if I go to see some movies, mostly scarey, which I am afraid of, with him. Well, I feel I got off lucky last evening. We saw The Host.
I actually enjoyed it and it wasn’t too scarey, but in it’s own way it was. It made me feel glad for the freedom to just go to the movies, then come home and hang out in my hammock chair stand, without hiding from “seekers”!
It’s here, and here to stay, I believe! There are signs of spring everywhere, all over the yard.
The forsythia is bright yellow, the cherry tree is budding pink, and the maple trees are budding out with bright green leaves! Not to mention the birds flying around everywhere! It is time to break out the hammock stand and hang up my favorite hammock, just to be right in the middle of all this beauty!
What is this snow about? For Heaven’s sake, I thought it was spring?! Apparently Mother Nature herself is confused.
I prematurely hung one of my rope hammocks in the tree, and now it’s covered with snow! I am glad the hammock stand is still safe under cover!
The sunshine was just beautiful and cheery today, as it was streaming in the windows! After the rain and snow yesterday, it was a welcome sight.
I was inspired to clean and clean, because the dust is pretty evident in the sun. But after my flurry of housecleaning, I enjoyed two whole hours just hanging out in my hammock chair stand, reading, in my favorite sunny corner.
I heard birds singing this morning! I don’t think I usually hear birds in the winter, do I? It looked like a little chickadee, I’m not sure?
I really enjoy birds but I am not a serious “birder”! I saw this little bird flitting around the yard, chirping, then he landed on my poor, empty wooden hammock stand! I am hoping this is a sign of an early spring..?
What a dreary, rainy day today was! A perfect day for hanging out with the kids, catching up on movies. I do love a rainy, “snuggly” day every now and then. But only one, not more than that. Then I am ready for sunshine again!
I also spent two whole hours reading a great book, while hanging in my hammock chair, in my hammock chair stand. I even had time to throw some fresh veggies in a pot with a soup bone and make a great soup, because rainy days are soup days anytime of the year. All in all, a perfect day!
