Healthy Lifestyle Part 5
The benefits of exercise are numerous! A healthier body leads to a happier life. Exercise promotes better rest, and better rest promotes health. Sometimes people do not know where to start if they have been inactive for a period of time.
The best advice I have is to just start! Put one foot in front of the other, and take that first step. Stop procrastinating! You will feel so much better and reap the benefits of exercise with increased energy levels very soon. Walking may be the easiest way to start, or riding a bike, or swimming. Whatever appeals to you, that is what is right for you! Don’t worry, you will have a great excuse to then rest in your hammock with a comfortable hammock pillow tucked under your head for a nice, well deserved, nap!
Because I am a modern day hammock lover, I enjoy the hammock accessories that make life easier for me. For instance, as I said, I brought one of my travel hammocks on my beach vacation.
But instead of trying to tie it to the posts, I brought hammock tree straps and attached them to the posts and hung the beautiful green Brazilian hammock I chose for this trip! Now the whole family can enjoy it! When you have as many folding hammocks as I do, it’s like choosing a pair of shoes for your trip!
Do you enjoy cooking? Perhaps you have a recipe that looked great but you know that new recipes can take extra time to prepare and get the necessary ingredients, etc so you just make the same old, familiar dishes. I have been enjoying trying to learn to cook better on the grill! I am trying to become a “grill master”!
Or, you may have another recipe on your mind. I have been making vegetables on the grill, potatoes, zucchini, and squash, by mixing them with olive oil, dill weed, garlic salt, and pepper. Then I put them directly on the grill. Delicious! My kids even love them and it’s a great way for them to eat their veggies! I do lose a few slices to the grill, though, so I am going to get a grill basket! There are many recipes for the grill I want to try. Take your favorite cookbook out to your comfortable, quilted hammock, prop your head on a soft hammock pillow, and flag a few recipes to try this week!
Don’t forget your hammock accessories as you head of to the campground or on your backpacking trip. The most important for me while camping are the hammock tree straps. This is how I hang my travel hammock, i.e, bed. They are so easy to use. Just strap them around the trees and in a matter of minutes, you are finished. The best part is that they do cause any permanent tree damage, and being somewhat of a “tree hugger” myself, I like this.
Another beneficial item when camping, that I bring, because it barely takes up any space, is the hammock protective sleeve. I cover my hammock up during the day in case it rains. Then I still have a dry bed that night without having to take it down.
I was sitting in my hammock chair today, under the tress, in the shade. I was reading a new book and all stretched out, so comfortable. But I wanted to have a cold drink too! But where could I put it without knocking it over, or leaning half way out of the chair?
I remembered that I had a drink cooler that I hadn’t even opened! This has to be one of the greatest hammock accessories ever made! I looped it around the spreader bar and I put a cold can in it! The cooler kept it cold for me! It was hanging right in my reach and I was “happy as a clam” once again!
Dad is a special person. The saying is that anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a “Dad”. He has always been there 
for you, now you want him to know how much you love him and appreciate him. Maybe you admire his selflessness. I always remember that my own Dad would always put my sister and my Mom first. He would always sacrifice so that we were comfortable.
We have been talking about some ideas for Dad for Father’s Day. We thought a hammock would be a nice gift. How about a hammock pillow to go with it? Now he can lay his head on a soft pillow while he is napping or reading the paper. He is going to enjoy his little piece of heaven!
Dad’s always the one that everyone goes to when they need something “fixed”. The bike has a flat tire. The door is squeaking. The list goes on and on…Dad can sometimes take on the role of a handyman. other times, a protector, a teacher, and a friend.
We want to give Dad something to let him know we appreciate his hard work. Maybe he likes to fish and is the outdoor type? The Green Eggs and Hammocks trailer hitch stand would be an awesome gift for him! He could use it for many outdoor activities and be the envy of his buddies!
So, we are thinking of Father’s Day coming up in a couple weeks and remembering our special Dads! You know, anyone can be a father but it takes a special man to be a Dad or a Daddy! We are going to give him the gift of relaxation this year, a hammock!
However, one of the greatest hammock accessories ever is the hammock mister. We should included this for the hot days as he lays in his hammock relaxing. It hooks to the hose and releases a fine mist for cooling when necessary. We are definitely going to be Dad’s favorite this year!
You love to lounge around in your hammock after a hard days work or on a lazy afternoon. You enjoy reading, snoozing, and listening to music in it. Are you using a hammock pillow

Not only do they add the extra touch for a pleasingly pretty spot to look at, but they also add the extra comfort to make your time in your hammock so much more enjoyable. Add a long traditional hammock pillow that ties to your spreader bar. Or for a fun, chic look, add a few smaller pillows in different prints. They don’t have to match perfectly, they will be a unique look.
One of the most useful hammock accessories for a camping trip are the hammock tree straps. This makes it simple to 
hang your travel hammock. You just strap the tree straps around two trees. The height you hang your hammock just depends on the distance the trees are apart.
What an easy bed you just made! I like the idea the best that I am off the ground. I just get a little creepy about that. I feel like I get a great sleep in a hammock. Sometimes I feel like getting rid of my bed!
